A BODY has been found in the search for a teenager who vanished from the Scottish Borders last week.
Kamile Gimbutyte, 18, also known as Rhian, was reported missing to police after she disappeared on Sunday afternoon.
She was last seen in the Melrose area of the Borders at around 2pm on Sunday and was believed to have been hillwalking in the Eildon Hills.
A frantic search was underway as cops appealed for help from the public to find her.
But this afternoon, the force confirmed that a body had been recovered from the Eildon Hills area.
Formal identification has yet to take place.
However, Kamile’s family have been informed.
Police added that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
It comes after a body was found amid the search for a man who went missing from Glasgow over two weeks ago.
Darren Pollock, 42, vanished from the Pollok area of the city last month.
Tragically, a man’s body was found on Coille-eughain Hill in Luss, Argyle and Bute, on Sunday morning.
The man has yet to be formally identified but police have informed Darren’s family.
The tragic discovery was made almost 60 miles away from where Darren was last seen.
