Gary Graham, 21, was identified by police before the match on 1st December 2024 as a member of the Union Bears, as per The Courier‘s report.
Fiscal depute Alan Bell explained the scene that saw Graham apprehended.
He said: “Because of the large amount of fans, police moved closer to them.
“Officers had no concerns until a fight broke out.
“Two males, including the accused, were seen throwing punches at each other.”
Mr Bell revealed that the pair fled when police ordered them to stop, with Graham caught up to by the officers and the other man escaping.
He continued, saying that Graham was released from Dundee’s police HQ on an undertaking to later appear in court, having been ‘hostile’ whilst in custody.
Defence solicitor Alan Davie revealed that the feud had broken out between the two over tickets for the game.
He said: “The other person was also a Rangers fan, so this was not violence associated with football rivalry.”
Sheriff Clair McLachlan fined Graham £240 after he pled guilty to a breach of the peace charge
It was his second football-related offence.
The sheriff said the threshold for a football order had been met, but she did not have enough information about his previous offence to ban him.
