A MAN has been found dead and a woman rushed to hospital after an alleged disturbance in a Scots town.
Police raced to the scene around 8.25pm on Tuesday night after the alarm was raised.



The 59-year-old man was found dead at a flat in Montgomerie Street in Ardrossan, Ayrshire, when officers arrived.
They also found a 24-year-old woman injured outside a block of flats when they reached the scene.
Medical crews raced the injured woman to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
A 40-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the alleged incident.
Images show several police vehicles parked outside the flats last night with officers standing outside the building.
Police have remained at the scene today which is still taped off as they investigate the alleged incident.
Fresh images taken this morning show officers standing guard at the entrance to a block of flats.
The car park outside the building has also been taped off.
Forensic specialists in white suits have been seen entering a property within the block.
Locals told of their shock after police swooped on the street last night.
One told the Scottish Sun: “I saw all the police arrive last night, they’ve been coming and going all day.
“I didn’t know the man well but he was always kind to me. It’s just sad that something like this can happen.”
“Things like this have been happening around here for a while.
“There are families in that block and they have to live around all of this. They will grow up thinking things like this are normal. It’s not on.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.25pm on Tuesday, 10 September, 2024 officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the Montgomerie Street area Ardrossan.
“Emergency services attended and a 24-year-old woman was found injured outside a block of flats. She was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment.
“A 59-year-old man was pronounced dead within a flat.
“His family is aware.
“A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.
“A police presence remains in the area and anyone with any concerns or information can approach these officers.”
