FOUR teenagers have been charged with extortion after a teacher at a Scots private school was suspended over claims about an online video.

A teacher at Robert Gordon’s College in Aberdeen was suspended last month as cops probed an alleged online communications offence.

School bosses became aware of reports of alleged social media footage and suspended the teacher.

A video is alleged to have been filmed outside school hours and in a city park, reports the Press and Journal.

Cops say their investigation is continuing and the teacher has not been charged.

But the four teenage boys have been arrested and charged with assault and extortion over the alleged video.

Three boys, all aged 15, and one aged 16 will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal over the alleged incident.

It is believed the boys are not pupils at the private school, which charged £18k-a-year in fees.

A PoliceScotland spokesperson told the P&J: “Four male youths, three aged 15 and one aged 16, have been arrested and charged in connection with assault and extortion in the Aberdeen area.

“A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”

The teacher was suspended by the elite school last month.

A spokesperson for Robert Gordon’s College said: “The school is aware of a video circulating on social media.

“The temporary staff member involved has been suspended.

“This is now a matter for Police Scotland and it would be inappropriate for the school to comment any further.”
