COPS have locked down a street near a Scots prison amid reports of an ‘axe’ incident.
Police officers have sealed off Stenhouse Drive in the Saughton Mains Bank area of Edinburgh following reports of an incident at around 5.30 pm tonight.

Locals reported seeing a person ‘with an axe’, according to the Daily Record.
The incident is not far from HMP Edinburgh.
Cops have since confirmed a man and a woman were seriously assaulted and bluelighted to hospital by ambulance.
Officers remain at the scene while investigations are carried out.
It is understood that forensic officers are also in attendance.
Inspector Alison Lawrie said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“A police presence will remain in the area while we carry out investigations and anyone with any concerns, or information, can approach these officers.”
