A PERSON has been rushed to hospital following an ongoing incident in Glasgow City Centre.
PoliceScotland locked down the busy stretch of road metres from the Pavilion Theatre on the city‘s Renfield Street at around 1.15pm.
The casualty has been blue-lighted to hospital in an ambulance as at least half a dozen copsremain at the scene.
An officer wearing a high-visibility jacket is directing traffic away from the scene.
Plain-clothed officers joined uniform colleagues as they collected statements from bystanders.
Workmen on nearby Sauchiehall Street downed tools as they cooperated with police.
A police vehicle with flashing blue lights is parked at the top of the road.
The road has been taped off – with officers ordering pedestrians to use another crossing.
Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
