The school sent an alarming email to parents informing them of the incident but assured them that everyone was safe.

According to Glasgow Live, the email stated that two people who are “not associated” with the school had “gained access” to the building.

However, it went on to claim that the school was locked and the two individuals were “let in” by a pupil.

They added that while the pair left “without incident” after a “very brief period”, it could have quickly become a dangerous situation.

Staff at the school explained that teachers would be talking to all of the pupils today to explain the “potential seriousness” of the incident.

However, they stressed that “‘no harm was caused” by the two people who entered the building.

Cops were called to the school after the alarm was raised, but the force said there was “no ongoing incident” when they arrived.

Officers said that enquiries are ongoing.

Glasgow City Council told the Scottish Sun that building security for schools is taken “very seriously”.

They went on to say that staff in the school have a role in being “vigilant”.

But they added that pupils are also being reminded about the dangers of “opening doors to strangers”.

A spokeswoman said: “Everyone at the school is fine and our schools take school building security very seriously.
