A PENSIONER has lost his fight for life after being struck by a car in Johnstone.
John Allen, 85, was hit by a red Toyota Corolla on Beith Road at around 8:30am on Sunday, December 29.

Mr Allen was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the smash, but he tragically passed away two days later, on Tuesday, December 31.
Sergeant Paul Mellis of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with John’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“Enquiries into the crash are continuing. I would appeal to anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact us through 101 quoting incident number 0814 of 29 December, 2024.”
Mr Allen’s death comes following numerous horror incidents on Scots roads since Christmas.

Paige Douglas, 26, died after her BMW collided with a Mercedes Sprinter van and a Ford Focus in Fife at around 1.05pm on Tuesday.
The passenger in Paige’s car, a 22-year-old man and the driver of the van, a 46-year-old man were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
A 62-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man from the third vehicle were taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment and later released following the smash on Standing Stane Road, near Windygates.
Emergency crews were also called to a fatal smash on the A83 road, near Tarbert on December 31.
A 53-year-old man was found injured at the scene after they arrived.
But he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
And in a third incident a 70-year-old woman was killed following a hit and run in Paisley
The pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a white car in Barrhead Road at about 7pm on New Year’s Eve.
Cops said the driver struck the woman then failed to stop at the scene, near to the junction with Ladykirk Crescent.
The force say enquiries are ongoing to identify and locate the car.
