A CHRISTMAS Grinch was caught red-handed pinching a wreath from a Scots family’s home.
Footage captured on a Ring doorbell shows the moment the Edinburgh pensioner snatched the festive decoration and made a run for it.
The incident took place around 9.18pm on Monday at a home in The Calders, Edinburgh.
Stephanie Johnston, the owner of the £20 Tesco wreath, branded the brazen woman’s actions as a ‘brass neck’.
She told Edinburgh Live: “It’s the pure audacity.
“She’s right in front of the camera. It’s sad times when someone takes it upon themselves to steal a £20 wreath from Tesco.
“Not your stereotypical looking thief, but the brass neck of this lady. Can’t have anything nice these days.
“You couldn’t write it.”
Elsewhere, a pair of ‘porch pirates’ were also caught on camera stealing Christmas parcels from a neighbour’s wheelie bin before stashing it in their baby’s pram.
The scheming pair were also caught on a Ring doorbell camera in Keigth Court, Partick, Glasgow, swiping the parcel and seemingly concealing it in the bottom of their child‘s buggy.
The woman whose parcel was stolen spoke of her fury at the theft of what should have been her son’s Christmas presents.
She said the parcel contained t-shirts and a Bluetooth speaker, blasting the “callous” thieves.
She said: “I know everybody has hard times but that’s not an excuse. “There’s no consideration for anybody else but yourselves. What you are doing is totally wrong.”
