HEARTBROKEN friends and family have paid tribute to two teens who died in a horror electric motorbike smash.
The tragic lads were named as best pals Marcus Beck, 17, and Gregor Booth, 16.
The pair died in the horror crash near Elgin[/caption]They were passengers on the back of the cycle when it’s understood they were hit by a car near Elgin, Moray.
The pair were riding pillion as the Sur-Ron e-bike was driven by their 14-year-old friend.
Tributes poured in for college student Marcus and schoolboy Gregor, who was a pupil at Elgin High School.
Marcus’ devastated family said:“Marcus was a young man who loved going out and about with his mates. He will be missed so very much by all of his family and his friends.
“We cannot begin to explain what a shock this has been for everyone and we would like time to be able to come to terms with what has happened.”
One friend said: “Fly high Marcus. I’m absolutely heartbroken about the news. I can’t believe it.”
Another added: “Rest easy boys. Taken far too soon.”
While one friend posted a picture of Gregor and said: “Going to miss you.”
Throughout the day youths and adults trekked to the scene of the crash, between Lossiemouth and Elgin.
They wandered onto a grass verge and left bouquets of flowers and cards to remember their friends.
One local said: “It is beyond tragic. It just doesn’t make any sense that two boys so young have died.
“They had their whole lives ahead of them. All the kids are just in bits.
“They can’t get their heads around it at all. None of us can really.”
One social media tribute said: “Rest easy Gregor and Marcus. Doesn’t feel real at all.”
Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash on the A941 at about 8pm on Monday night.
The deadly smash involved the e-bike, a blueVauxhall Mokka, a red Renault Clio, a black Vauxhall Corsa and a white VWGolf.
Cops said the 14-year-old boy who was driving the bike is in a stable condition at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.
The driver of the Mokka, a 54-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital and later released.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The road was closed for hours as police launched a probe into the incident and appealed for information.
Sergeant Iain Nicholson said: “Our thoughts remain with the families and friends of all involved. This is an incident that has also affected the fwider community at what is a very upsetting and difficult time for all.
“Our investigation into the crash is ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers and who could help with our enquiries to come forward.
“If you information, such as dash-cam, or saw anything at the time of the crash that could assist officers then please get in touch.”
